Amedspor set €3m purchase trigger for Gift Orban after clarifying loan terms

Amedspor president Nahit Eren says the Turkish club paid €500,000 to loan Gift Orban from Hoffenheim, rather than the €1m fee reported by some outlets.

The agreement includes an obligatory purchase clause based on the Nigerian striker’s performances. Amedspor will be required to make the move permanent if Orban scores 10 goals.

The permanent transfer fee has been set at €3m, not €5m as previously claimed in some media reports. Eren also confirmed that the amount will not be paid in a single instalment, with the transfer fee to be spread over several years to protect Amedspor’s financial balance.

Speaking to Amida Haber, Eren provided the details of the deal as Orban has made an impressive start to life in Turkey.

The 23-year-old has scored seven goals and provided two assists in his first six league appearances for Amedspor. Those figures make him one of the club’s most influential players this season.

Orban remains under contract with Hoffenheim until 30 June 2029. His estimated market value is €7m, while his annual salary is reported to be €750,000 (487,500,000 FCFA).

The Nigeria international joined Hoffenheim after previously playing for Lyon and is spending the current campaign with Amedspor on loan.

Amedspor’s next fixture will be against Genclerbirligi in the seventh round of the Turkish championship.
