Norwich new boy Ibrahim Amadou says he is excited about the prospect of playing in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has become the Canaries' fifth signing of the summer window after agreeing a season-long loan from Sevilla.

Amadou joins fellow loanees Patrick Roberts and Ralf Fahrmann at the club, as well as permanent signings Josip Drmic and Sam Byram.

The former Lille man is primarily a defensive midfielder but will add to Daniel Farke's options with him also capable of playing in defence.

I had this opportunity right now and I've decided to take it.

After starting his career with Nancy, the Cameroon-born star joined Les Dogues in 2015, captaining the side before heading to Spain 12 months ago.

He made 29 appearances in all competitions for Los Rojiblancos and will hope for similar exposure at Carrow Road.

Norwich begin their campaign on Friday evening away at Liverpool and will hope to cause an upset in their first match back in the Premier League since 2016.

Amadou says he is keen to show what he can do in England, with the switch to the Premier League allowing him to realise a childhood dream.

"I'm happy to play for Norwich because I know they just got promoted to the Premier League with a lot of points in the Championship," he told the club's website.

"It's a new challenge for me and I would like to discover more about the Premier League.

"When I was young, it was a dream to play in the Premier League but the more I grew up, the more it became an objective.

"I had this opportunity right now and I've decided to take it. I will try to do my best in the Premier League.

"I will have to show what I can do and make a good impression."

Norwich are 10/11 to be relegated and 10/11 to avoid the drop.
