Altobelli hopes Lautaro Martinez overtakes him in Inter’s all-time scoring list

Lautaro Martinez has moved into third place in Inter’s all-time goalscoring rankings, putting him within reach of Alessandro Altobelli, the former Italy striker and 1982 world champion.

Altobelli has welcomed the prospect of being surpassed by the Argentina international, saying: “I hope Lautaro catches me as soon as possible.”

Martinez has played for Inter since 2018 and continues to climb the club’s scoring list. Inter are currently second in the Italian championship.
