The Desert Foxes of Algeria defeated the Syli national of Guinea in a narrow 1-0 win and Algeria coach, Djamel Belmadi, has promised a better team performance against Nigeria.

Guinea were resilient and Algeria found it difficult to break them down at Oran on Friday evening.

Substitute Islam Slimane was the hero on the night as he scored the only goal of the match in the 87th minute to ensure a win for the Desert Foxes

While reacting to the game, Belmadi praised their opponent and promised a more binding team against the Super Eagles.

"Against Nigeria, there will be more binding because it will be players who are used to playing with each other", he told Fennec.

The match against Nigeria's Super Eagles is slated for Tuesday at the same venue.
