Alex Iwobi reaches rare Premier League milestone recognised by top flight

Alex Iwobi has become only the fifth player in Premier League history to make at least 100 appearances for three different clubs, with the landmark achievement recognised by the competition.

The Fulham midfielder has now played 100 Premier League matches for his current club, having previously made 123 appearances for Everton and 100 for Arsenal.

Iwobi’s achievement places him in a select group that includes four Premier League legends: Gary Speed, Rory Delap, Gareth Barry and James Milner.

The Premier League highlighted the milestone on its official X account, writing: “A century. And again. And again. @FulhamFC's Alex Iwobi becomes the 5th player to make 100+ appearances for 3 different clubs ?.”

Iwobi’s 100th league appearance for Fulham means he has reached the century mark with each of the three clubs he has represented in the Premier League. His record also includes more than a century of appearances for Everton, while his tally for Arsenal reached exactly 100.

That consistency across different stages of his career has earned him a place alongside Speed, Delap, Barry and Milner, the other players to have achieved the same league feat.

For Iwobi, the Fulham landmark is another significant figure in a year that has also seen him reach 100 international caps for Nigeria. He has therefore brought up three-figure totals for both club and country while still only 30 years old.

The Premier League’s message celebrated the repeated milestones behind his record, drawing attention to the fact that Iwobi has reached 100 appearances not just once, but with three separate clubs.

His achievement comes while he is representing Fulham, following earlier spells with Arsenal and Everton. The figures recorded by the league are 100 appearances for Arsenal, 123 for Everton and 100 for Fulham.

Iwobi is also a member of the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national team, for whom he has won 100 caps. Together, the club and international milestones underline the scale of his career to date.

Only four other players in Premier League history had previously appeared at least 100 times for three different clubs. Iwobi’s inclusion alongside Speed, Delap, Barry and Milner makes him the latest player to enter that exclusive group.

The Premier League’s recognition confirms the significance of the achievement, with Fulham’s midfielder now part of a small list of players whose top-flight careers have produced century appearances at three clubs.
