Alex Iwobi was the protagonist of the day as his Fulham side defeated Wifred Ndidi's Leicester City to record their first win of the English Premier League season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Iwobi scored his first goal of the season in the Cottages 2-1 win ove the Foxes at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

A bright home debut it was for new signing, Smith Rowe as he scored the opener on 18 minute after Adama Traoré had spotted him perfectly for the former Arsenal man to hit a left-footed effort into the far corner.

The visitors responded on 41 minute through Faes to made the scoreline 1-1 at half time.

Fulham kept pushing to score in the second half until the 70th minute when Iwobi scored.

A lovely reverse right-footed pass by Antonee Robinson, and the Nigerian international expertly placed a low, hard shot home.

The home side held on to record their first win after a loss against Manchester United in the first match of the 2024/2025 season.

Meanwhile, Nigeria duo of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey played for 90 minute while Wilfred Ndidi also played for 90 minute.
