Akwa Utd Catch Two Ghanaian Players Fancy
Akwa United have received keen interest from two Ghanaian players for the upcoming 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The Promise Keepers are already intensifying preparation and training for the upcoming top-flight under the new manager, Abdul Maikaba due for unveiling on Wednesday in Uyo.
Akwa United team manager, Emmanuel Udoh said the players who are from top-flight clubs in Ghana were outstanding in their individual club side in the immediate past season.
The two players whose managers have concluded arrangement with the management of the Uyo-based side for their immediate transfer are Energy FC goalkeeper and an attacker from Hilal FC.
The duo whose identities are is being protected has actually started training with Akwa United since Tuesday.
Udoh said negotiations are on to register other players in the NPFL to beef up the team stressing that the management will ensure quality players are recruited for next season.
“We will go to any length reasonable to register tested players this time around, we will go for the best legs to add to the remaining ones.
“Akwa United will certainly parade the best set of players capable of going for glory in the upcoming season,” said Udoh to supersport.com.
