Nigerian forward, Junior Ajayi, has been ruled out of his club , Al Ahly’s Friday’s CAF Champions League Group A clash against Tunisia giants, Esperance.

Ajayi sustained a muscular injury in Al Ahly’s 1-0 defeat to Assiouty Sport in their Egypt Cup quater-final clash on Monday.

He was replaced in the 28th minute of the encounter as result of the injury with Salah Mohsen coming on for him.

Al Ahly’s  director of football, Said Abdel Hafiz,  confirmed the former First Bank of Lagos player  injury via the club’s official website.

“Ajayi needs treatment for the injury he picked up in the Egypt Cup game against Assiouty and would be absent from the game against Esperance,” Abdel Hafiz told Al Ahly’s official website.

The former CS Sfaxien of Tunisia player has 32 appearances in all competitions for Al Ahly this season and bagged nine goals and 11 assists.
