AIK secure Nigerian prospect David Oluwaseyi Oludase after one-month trial

Swedish side AIK have signed Nigerian winger David Oluwaseyi Oludase from Ikon Allah Football Academy on a contract running until 31 December 2029.

The 18-year-old will begin his time in Sweden with AIK’s academy team, where he is expected to continue his development before attempting to establish himself in the first team.

Oludase completed a month-long trial with the Stockholm-based club, training with both the P19 team and the senior squad. His performances during that period persuaded AIK to offer him a long-term deal.

The move represents an important early step in the teenager’s career, and Oludase said he was looking forward to starting work with his new club.

“Signing for AIK is a big step in my career and I can’t wait to get started on the pitch,” Oludase told the club’s official website.

“The club’s history and the passion of the supporters are something truly special, and I’m ready to give everything for the shirt every time I step onto the pitch.”

AIK Football recruitment manager Miika Takkula said the Nigerian had impressed the club with his technical ability and attitude during his trial.

“David trained with the P19 and men’s team for a month and convinced us with his potential. He is a technically skilled, left-footed right winger with good speed and a nice first touch,” Takkula said.

Although AIK were encouraged by Oludase’s qualities, Takkula believes there are still areas of his game that must improve as he adapts to a new level of football.

“What mainly needs to be developed is his actions and decision-making in the final third of the pitch. During the trial period, he showed a very good attitude and great commitment, which was an important part of our decision to sign a contract with him,” he added.

Oludase’s arrival continues the connection between AIK and Ikon Allah Football Academy, which has also produced Zadok Yohanna.

Yohanna left the Nigerian academy for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion this summer, highlighting the pathway that has begun to emerge for players from the organisation.

For now, Oludase will focus on academy football at AIK as he adjusts to life in Sweden and works towards earning opportunities with the senior side. His contract keeps him at the club until the end of 2029, giving AIK time to oversee his progress and support his transition into senior football.
