Agent of Godfred Donsah confirms English suitors amid reported West Ham interest
Godfred Donsah has been linked with a move to West Ham, whilst Arsenal and Liverpool have shown interest in him.
Donsah, 18, has been linked with a move to the Hammers by Calciomercato, and his agent has told TMW that there is definite English interest in the young midfielder.
Oliver Arthur said: “Arsenal, [Manchester] City and Liverpool have expressed an interest, but nothing official [in terms of offers].”
Arthur confirms that Donsah is wanted in the Premier League, but despite West Ham’s reported interest, he does not mention the East London club as one of his suitors.
It is believed that Donsah, being an all-action central midfielder, is being targeted by the Hammers as a replacement for Alex Song, who returns to Barcelona this summer at the end of his loan deal.
Donsah has little experience of top flight football due to his age, but he has impressed when taking to the field in Serie A, and has shown a great potential with his physicality and technical skills.
West Ham could have offered him consistent first-team football in the Premier League, but his agent’s dismissal of their interest suggests that a move to a different club is on the cards.
Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are all name-checked, although they have yet to offer a formal approach for Donsah, and it is likely that the youngster will be playing at one of those three clubs next season.
They can all offer European football, and Liverpool and Arsenal have a proven track record of utilising young players and developing them into first-team regulars.
West Ham have reportedly been the long-term admirers in him, but they will need to move quickly if they have a serious interest in signing the highly-rated Donsah this summer.
