Malawian referee Godfrey Philip Nkhakananga has been appointed to oversee the crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Libya’s Mediterranean Knights, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The fixture, set for Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, promises to be a key encounter in the qualification journey for both teams, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.

In addition to Nkhakananga, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected a team of officials to assist in managing the Matchday 3 showdown. Fellow Malawians Clemence Kanduku and Joseph Nyauti will serve as assistant referees 1 and 2, respectively. The fourth official, hailing from Botswana, will be Keabetswe Dintwa.

The support team for the match also includes Munkaila Nassam Adam from Ghana, who will act as the match commissioner, while Issaka Boubacar of Niger has been designated as the referee assessor. Nigeria’s own Mayowa Akingbemisilu will handle the role of broadcast venue manager, ensuring the seamless transmission of the game.

With top-level referees and officials in charge, both Nigeria and Libya will be looking to take full advantage of this AFCON qualifier as they aim to secure a place in the prestigious tournament.
