AFCON U17: Nduka Ugbade remains positive despite loss to Morocco
Nigeria's under seventeen male team coach, Nduka Ugbade has reacted to the loss against Morocco in the on going African Cup of Nations, AFCON U-17 championship in Algeria on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Golden Eaglets were humbled by the Junior Eagles of Morocco by a goal to nil after an goal in the 2nd of the minute by Tochukwu Ogboji.
Ugbade while speaking after the match attributed the loss not to the playing ability of his boys, but to the tactical ability of the North African side which was superior to his team.
“Everything worked well. We controlled the game but tactically Morocco controlled the outcome.
We had a few mistakes as well but we created so many chances, and the only problem is that we couldn’t score.
He stated that going forward, the team needed to ensure they are more efficient in taking their chances and work harder next time.
“It does happen in football. It is not a strange thing, but it is important to correct and ensure we are more efficient in front of the goal.
"We must be more efficient with the chances we have. We will try to look for some different ways tactically to impact the outcome of the game. We have a chance, but also, that chance can fade away. We have to work hard,” he concluded.
The Golden Eaglets will play South Africa who are on same points with Nigeria in their last group make or mar encounter on Friday.
