Nigeria Super Eagles lost their last African Cup of Nations 2025 qualifying series match against Rwanda in Uyo on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Nigeria lost the Group D encounter 1-2 as the visitors came from behind to get the win at the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium.

It was a first half where the Eagles struggled to find their rhythm lacking urgency and precision with the Rwandans playing more hungrily.

After 45 minutes, there was nothing to choose between the two sides as they headed into the dressing room.

Substitute Samuel Chukwueze gave Nigeria the lead after taking on the Rwandan backline with pace before drilling it home past Fiacre Ntwari in the 59th minute of the game.

A. Mutsinzi restored parity in the 72nd minute before I. Nshuti put the Rwandans in the lead and ultimately gave them the win.

Amavubi are tied with Benin on eight points but Benin have a superior record in their head-to-head encounters. Nigeria and Benin qualify.
