Nigeria Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has stated that the Nigerian team is yet to play its best football in the tournament even after their win over Cameroon in the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Osimhen spoke after the match revealing that the team has the mentality of winning and helping each other to surpass their opponents.

The Napoli striker who was very instrumental to the 2-0 win over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon with his assist to Ademola Lookman for the first goal believes it is the team unity that has taken the Super Eagles far.

Asked how strong physically and mentally is the Super Eagles team, Osimhen said:

“We have not played the best of our football yet, I have to be honest, but I think the whole team from the starting eleven to the bench, I think we have this mentality of winning, we want to win, we want to help each other because I think for me, we are more of a family than the players.

So for me, it is important that we have this mentality and the right focus to go every game thinking that we can win. I'm really happy about the win and we want to keep the momentum going."

Osimhen also commended the team's defenders, stating that the team has been solid with the defending and attacking transition.
