AFCON 2017: Green Grass Technology assures Accra Stadium pitch will be in good condition for Mauritius qualifier
Green Grass Technology has promised to deliver a perfect playing surface when Ghana host Mauritius in the opening 2017 AFCON qualifier on Sunday.
There have been simmering complaints from some of the Black Stars players over the quality of the pitch after the 1-0 win over Togo in an international friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Skipper Asamoah Gyan has led these complaints – admitting it made moving the ball difficult for the side in the game against Togo meant to prepare the side for the weekend’s clash.
But head of Green Grass Technology – who are responsible for the proper grooming of pitch – Frank Boahen says the concerns of the players will be taken on board as they work to improve the playing surface before Sunday’s game.
“We are here for the team and therefore I am looking forward to meeting some of the senior players to know their concern about the pitch,” he said.
“After listening to their concerns, we will move quickly to address these concerns before they play the game on Sunday.”
