DR Congo received a surprise presidential boost at 2015 Africa Cup when President Joseph Kabila made a surprise visit to The Leopards camp in Malabo.

Kabila flew into Equatorial Guinea on Monday just 48 hours before DR Congo face Cote d'Ivoire in the first semifinal of the 2015 Africa Cup.

"The priority was to encourage the players before the 'two games' they have left to play," Kabila's communications advisor Jean-Marie Kassamba told AFP.

Kassamba said there was also the likely possibility that President Kabila may stay on to watch DR Congo's clash with The Elephants at Estadio de Bata on Wednesday night.

Two-time champions DR Congo are seeking their first Africa Cup final appearance since lifting the trophy in 1974.
