Ghana winger Christian Atsu is delighted to have scored the stunner that has captivated audiences at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations as his strike against Guinea is being considered for the Goal of the Tournament award.

The on-loan Everton player scored twice to help Ghana to reach the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations after a comfortable 3-0 win against Guinea.

The Chelsea owned player was sensational for the Black Stars, producing easily his best performance of the competition so far.

He netted the first strike in simple fashion. He ran onto a squared ball to tuck away a neat finish at the far post into an empty net.

The third goal of the game, and Atsu's second, was far from simple. He cut in on to his favoured left peg from the right hand side, before unleashing a fantastic effort into the far top corner of the Guinea net.

Atsu who has failed to impress in an Everton shirt but he is delighted to have scored the amazing goal which could help turn his fortunes round for the second half of the season.

"I play to score and I always shoot to score and that is how beautiful goals come so i am just happy about it", Atsu said after the game.

"I always work hard even though I know sometimes things will not work out and its part of football and I must understand it. I never look down in life and work hard and hope for the best and that is what is keeping me going.

He looked far more like the player who terrorised defences at the World Cup and in the Eredivisie six months ago.

He scored two of Ghana's goals in the game.

It was a fantastic goal and a fantastic performance - Everton fans will be hoping to see more of this Christian Atsu when he returns from international duty.
