Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso says his teammates must punch above their weight against Group C leaders Algeria in Friday crucial encounter.

The Black Stars would press the exit button from the tournament if they suffer another defeat against Les Fennecs after losing 2-1 to Senegal on Monday.

Algeria were 3-1 winners over South Africa in their opener and laid down the gauntlet to other title contenders.

Wakaso, who came on as a second half substitute, knows they will have to dig deep to deflate the high flying Algerians.

“Algeria are a really good team and we need to work hard in order to get all six points from the next two games,” Wakaso said.

A Mohamed Rabiu plus Agyemang Badu midfield combo has always been shaky. It is about time we try Wakaso plus one of them in the absence of our midfield dynamos.

Is abt time u change u da players change ur characters on the field of play.sometimes wen u play i wonder if it is da true blackstars dat the likes of ohene gyan, welbeck mffum, baba yara, osei kofi, abedi Pele, tony yebaoh and co played.at least u could see a high sense of mentality and willing to die and create names for their selfs,is dat wat we r seeing today? NO?u play any how u like on da field of play, show no remorse for a defeat, demanding and yet not perform.u r being given as much as the nation can offer but yet plays as if there is nothn at stake.jst go back and watch hw u guys played and ask urself dat is dis a well deserve performance for a tourney like da afcon. No?my broda wake up cos da country is spending much on u guys while there r other colleagues like da b.queens, maidens, satellite, and more who dnt even get half of the monies being given to u but yet show a little bit of fightin spirit for da nation.let me tell u da truth my broda we ghanaians even enjoys watchn da maidens played than even watchn u da stars nwadays.wakeup boys wake up....
