Flying Eagles forward Abdulmuiz Adeleke has made history after finishing as the highest goalscorer of the 2026 WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship in Côte d’Ivoire, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.

Adeleke ended the tournament with five goals to claim the Golden Boot, establishing himself as one of the standout attacking players in the competition.

The Nigerian forward was particularly influential during the group stage, scoring twice against Ghana before adding another brace against Togo to take his tally to five goals.

His achievement is a significant milestone for Nigerian football, as Adeleke becomes the first Nigerian male player to win the official Top Scorer award at the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship.

While Nigeria claimed the individual scoring honour, Burkina Faso swept the other major individual awards.
