Ghana goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey dedicated his clean sheet award on his MLS debut to his Portland FC defenders.

Kwarasey made two superb saves as the Timbers drew 0-0 with Real Salt Lake on the opening day.

The 27-year-old recovered from a hip problem which made him an injury doubt before the start of the campaign.

“It’s always nice to keep a clean sheet. Today, I have to give a lot of credit to my defenders, they were solid through out and we didn’t let them have a lot of chances today,” Kwarasey told the club’s website.

“I don’t think I was on the ground once so I have to share this moment with all my defenders.”

Kwarasey quit Norwegian side Stromsgodset late last year after seven years at the club.
