AC Milan step up interest in Granada teenager Owen Emeka
AC Milan have increased their interest in Granada youngster Owen Emeka after sending a scout to Spain to assess the highly rated winger.
The Serie A club are continuing to search across Europe for emerging talent, and Emeka has now emerged as a player who has caught their attention.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a Milan scout travelled to Spain while the Rossoneri were playing Lazio in a 2-2 draw. The purpose of the trip was to watch Granada’s match against Albacete.
The scout’s original focus was reportedly Dylan Rodriguez, but the player remained on the bench. That gave Emeka the opportunity to make an impression instead.
The 17-year-old right-winger took advantage of his chance by scoring in the match. It was Emeka’s first goal of the Spanish second-division campaign and further strengthened Milan’s interest in his progress.
The Rossoneri are now said to be “very interested” in the teenager. However, the club have not opened negotiations and are currently expected to continue monitoring his development before deciding whether to make a formal move.
Milan are not the only major European club keeping track of Emeka. Real Madrid are also reportedly following the Granada player.
Should Milan eventually secure his services, their intention would be to develop Emeka into a potential first-team player.
