AC Milan ease past Lecce to end winless run in style

AC Milan secured consecutive Serie A home victories for only the second time in 2026 with a convincing 3-0 win over Lecce at San Siro.

The result was Milan’s sixth successive Serie A victory against Lecce and ended a three-match winless run in all competitions before the extended international break.

Ruben Amorim’s side had lost four of their previous six competitive matches at home, winning one and drawing one, so a fast start was important. Milan delivered exactly that, taking the lead after 14 minutes.

Strahinja Pavlovic’s pass over the top was expertly brought under control by Christian Pulisic, who then kept his composure to guide the ball beyond Wladimiro Falcone and into the bottom corner.

The goal strengthened Milan’s control of the match, with the home side enjoying most of the possession as Lecce struggled to create a meaningful response. Lecce had entered the game without a competitive head-to-head win against Milan since 2006.

Milan dominated the remainder of the first half and had opportunities to extend their advantage before the interval. Koni De Winter headed wide from close range, while Falcone produced a smart save to keep out a low effort from Pavlovic.

The hosts continued to dictate the game after the restart and doubled their lead in the 61st minute. Adrien Rabiot exchanged passes with Goncalo Ramos before finishing the move himself, sweeping the ball home for his second Serie A goal of the season.

Milan’s two-goal advantage allowed them to approach the closing stages with greater comfort. Pervis Estupinan came close to adding a third when the marauding wing-back went forward, but his attempt did not find the net.

There was, however, still time for another goal. Substitute Diego Moreira made an immediate impact, cutting inside Jamil Siebert before firing confidently under Falcone for his third league goal in two matches.

Lecce managed to prevent further damage in the final stages, but Milan had already done enough to claim a comprehensive three points and restore momentum after their recent run of results.
