According to  London Evening Standard, AC Milan sporting director Leonardo has confirmed the Serie A club have approached Chelsea about the possibility of signing Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas, 31.

Leonardo has suggested AC Milan might be one of them. He said: "We evaluated it, considering the possibility, but didn't go all in. We are still evaluating the conditions." Fabregas, who will only be offered a 12-month contract by Chelsea at most due to a club policy relating to players over 30, is on around £160,000-a-week.

And Leonardo admits that the club still has FFP on their minds when it comes to adding to their squad and added: "There could be an economic sanction, we'll see what happens. We do have a very negative balance sheet. We'll certainly do something on the market, but we'll take it slowly".
