AC Milan Close in on Victor Boniface Loan Deal
AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly reached a verbal agreement for Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, NigeriaSoccernet.com gathered.
The move will be a loan with a €30m buy option clause, which is not mandatory.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news, adding that Milan are now in direct talks with Boniface’s agent over personal terms. The 24-year-old has already approved the move.
Romano wrote: “AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen preparing formal documents after verbal agreement for Victor Boniface. Loan deal with €30m buy option clause not mandatory. AC Milan now in direct talks with Victor Boniface’s agent over personal terms, key final step to get the deal done.”
He also added: “Negotiations underway today as Victor said yes to AC Milan contract proposal, talks continue over deal structure.”
The development comes as Milan’s focus was believed to be on Rasmus Højlund or Dusan Vlahovic. However, Romano earlier described the Boniface situation as “advanced”, while Sky Italia reported growing optimism in Milan.
Reports claim Milan’s formal proposal has been sent to Leverkusen, with Gianluca Di Marzio calling it decisive. Florian Plettenberg noted that Leverkusen are “leaning towards yes” as Boniface pushes for the move.
Sky Italia described the talks as “at the heart” of negotiations, stressing that both sides are finalising transfer details.
Boniface, who scored 11 Bundesliga goals last season, has impressed with pace, power, and pressing under Xabi Alonso. Milan now sees him as a perfect fit to lead their attack under new coach Massimiliano Allegri.
