Abia Warriors attacking midfielder, Ifeanyi Onyeali has said his side are determined to make it a double against Akwa United.

The Warriors are guests of the Promise Keepers in Saturday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 30 clash at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The Umuahia Warriors were 2-1 winners over the Uyo outfit in the first fixture clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Onyeali said nothing short of outright victory will be acceptable to his side at this stage of the league as well as the position they find themselves on the log.

“Exactly, that’s what we will do to make it a double against visiting Akwa United on Saturday.

“Double win is on our minds to return us to winning way after two away losses to Wikki Tourists and Niger Tornadoes.

“Nothing short of outright victory will be acceptable to us to shore up our position on the league log which is not looking comfortable at the moment.

“We are not expecting Akwa United to be walkovers, the match is almost like a local derby, the two states are neighbours so the clash will be tough but we are ready to spill blood on the field of play to earn the whole three points at stake.

“We simply cannot afford to draw or lose any point especially on home ground right now it will spell doom for us,” said the former Bussdor United marksman to supersport.com.

Abia Warriors are 15th on the Nigerian top-flight on 35 points 13 behind league leaders and oriental neighbours, Enugu Rangers.
