Nigerian international and former Rivers United defender Ebube Duru has penned a 3-year deal with Denmark Superliga side Sønderjyske FC, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The versatile Super Eagles defender who left the country in 2023 last playing for Rivers United was announced by the club on Tuesday evening.

"After a successful trial at Sønderjyske Fodbold, Ebube Duru has now signed a three-year contract with the Superliga club," announced Sønderjyske on their website

"Now the work and residence permit has also come into place, and thus the 25-year-old left back is officially ready to join the Superliga squad," the club's statement reads.

"We have been watching Ebube Duru for a long period of time, and we have been satisfied with what we have seen. He brings some raw physique, power and ambition, which looks very exciting, but we are also aware that there will probably be a longer approach with him, because it is the first time he will be playing football in Europe.

"He has good raw material, which we look forward to developing together in our setup, and now that the contract and the various papers are in place, we look forward to getting started in earnest, says sporting manager Casper Daather," states Sønderjyske.

Ebube Duru has been capped by the Super Eagles of Nigeria on four occasions.
