Ghana's planned pre-2018 World Cup qualifying friendly with Canada next month has not been postponed, contrary to reports in the West African country.

The Black Stars are planning to play the North American country in next month's international FIFA friendly date in the United States.

A local football news website in Ghana reported that international friendly with Canada has been moved from the 9th to 13th October.

However, the report has been denied by organisers of the game who say the report of a postponement of the match inaccurate.

Several media outlets had reported that the match was scheduled for 9 October.

Organisers have told Ghana's leading football news website that the match was originally scheduled for 13 October and that there has been no change of date for the game.

A press conference has been scheduled for next week in Canada for the federation to announce the friendly with Ghana and its details.

Ghana will use the match in preparation for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers which start in November.

The Black Stars will play the winner of the match between Lesotho and Comoros.
