Mohamed Saad, coach of Egyptian women’s team, has expressed satisfaction at his side’s gallant display against Ghana.

Egypt settled for a 1-1 draw with the highly-rated Black Queens in last Saturday’s Olympic Games qualifier.

Ghana scored directly from a corner through winger Portia Boakye while captain Engy Ahmed scored for the hosts from the penalty spot after defender Cynthia Adobea was penalised for a handball in the Ghana penalty area.

The first leg, which was played at the Petro Sports Club Stadium, failed to produce further goals and the Egyptian trainer says he is content with the outcome.

“I’m satisfied with the result,” Saad said.

”We played a good game and got a positive result. The players did well and their performance says it all.

Saad, who has guided the Lay Pharaohs to securing a ticket at the 2015 All Africa Games in Brazzaville, is hoping his side can avoid defeat in the second leg.

”We will go to Accra and fight for a good result. Our target will be not to lose and we will do our best to achieve it,” he ended.

The Ghana coach also praised the performance of Egypt but expects his Queens to finish the job in Accra on May 30.

“The Egyptians gave us a good test but we hope to finish the job in the return leg next week,” said Yusif Bassigi.

The winner on aggregate after the second leg in Accra will advance to face either Guinea Bissau or Cameroon in the final qualifying round to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
