2015 AFCON: Algeria coach extols Andre Ayew's qualities, desperate for qualification
Algeria coach Christian Gourcuff is looking ahead to a reunion with Andre Ayew ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations cracker against Ghana on Friday.
Gourcuff coached Ayew during hisloan spell at Lorient in 2008 and played a significant role in the early stages of his development.
The Frenchman has extolled the qualities of the Black Stars ahead of his side’s meeting with the four-time African champions.
He admits the Ghanaians are more experienced than their South Africa opponent whom they battered 3-1 and recount his fond memories with the Marseille talisman.
“I am familiar with Ayew, because I brought him to Lorient and everybody knows that,” he said
“I have not yet seen Ghana, but it’s a team of experienced players. They are less unbridled than South Africa which should suit us.
“They have quality players like their captain Andre Ayew whom I know very well in Lorient and as everyone knows, he has lots of qualities and capable of making the difference.
“We are not going to underestimate our opponent Our objective remains the three points against Ghana to ensure qualification as soon as possible because it will be very difficult against Senegal a few days later.”

WTF!! Algeria all of peeps tryna underrate us simply because we’ve lost some touch in recent times? Lol its really amazing now how every team think they can easily walk over us. Am urging the players to put the Senegal lost behind and shut the mouths of these Algerians we gotta put them in their rightful place cos the shit talk is becoming to much.
