Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu has declared his team’s intent to go all out for victory in their opening fixture against Tunisia at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, writes Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Speaking ahead of Thursday’s encounter, Zubairu expressed confidence drawn from Nigeria’s recent 2-1 friendly win over Egypt’s U20 side in Cairo.

“That result has given us the right momentum heading into this encounter with Tunisia – another tough North African side,” he told NFF Media.
“It’s the kind of boost you need before a major tournament.”

While optimistic, Zubairu was quick to stress that his team would not get carried away by the pre-tournament win.

“It doesn’t mean we’ll be complacent. It simply gives us the confidence to tackle what lies ahead.
Our goal is to claim maximum points against Tunisia, and then take each game as it comes.”

Nigeria is placed in Group B alongside Tunisia, Morocco, and Kenya. After their opener against Tunisia, the Flying Eagles will face Morocco and Kenya in subsequent group-stage fixtures.
