“We need to do better on a consistent basis” Lookman urges Super Eagles
Nigeria's Ademola Lookman has stressed the importance of consistency for the Super Eagles, as they navigate qualifying campaigns for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and 2026 FIFA World Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The team's contrasting fortunes in both qualifiers have raised eyebrows. They remain unbeaten in AFCON qualifying with three wins and one draw, but struggle in World Cup qualifying, failing to record a win after four games.
"We've shown good performances as a team in these AFCON qualifiers, and now we need to do better on a consistent basis," Lookman told 54footballx.
The Atalanta forward emphasized the need for sustained improvement, saying: "We've won games and drawn one, so we will continue in this manner and try to win our games."
Lookman's ultimate goal is clear: "Obviously, the goal is to qualify for the AFCON and World Cup, so we are looking to do those things."
With Lookman's leadership and vision, the Super Eagles will aim to maintain momentum and achieve their qualification objectives.
