Rohr led Benin Republic to their first ever win against Nigeria on the 10th of June, 2024 at the Stade Félix-Houphouët-Boigny, in Ivory Coast, to move joint top of group C of the qualifying standings after 4 games played.

Rwanda who currently tops the table on goal difference will host the Eagles in Group C, matchday five of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2025, and ahead of that, coach Horsten Frank have began the process that could earn him and his team a win over Nigeria.

"I’m very sure we will have a phone call before, maybe two or three, and if he can tell me something, I will be stupid not to take it," Horsten Frank told Brila FM.

“For that we will try to be in contact if possible we can help each other, for sure we will do it,“ he said about Genort Rohr.
