Watford withdraw from deal to sign Emmanuel Dennis
Watford has decided not to pursue the signing of Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis, despite the player training with the club since his contract with Nottingham Forest was mutually terminated in August, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The 27-year-old forward had been hoping to join Watford on a permanent deal, with the club initially willing to offer a one-and-a-half-year contract.
However, Watford has reportedly had a change of heart and will not be proceeding with the signing at this time.
The club may reconsider their decision in January, depending on their performance and squad needs.
Dennis has had two previous stints with Watford, first joining the club in 2021 and scoring 10 goals in the Premier League before being sold to Nottingham Forest.
He returned to Watford on loan in January 2024, netting four goals in 18 matches.
The decision to pull out of the deal is reportedly due to Watford being content with their current attacking options. Dennis's future remains uncertain, but he is expected to explore other options.
