WAFCON win: Super Falcons get national honours, $100,000
Nigeria Super Falcons have been received by the president of the nation, who gifted the team with cash prizes, 3-bedroom apartments, and national honours on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The women's national team emerged as champions of Africa for the 10th time after winning the Women's African Nations Cup in Morocco and was received in Abuja by the president and the first lady.
The number one man of the country conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger on the players and the technical team.
He announced an award of the naira equivalent of $100,000 to each of the players and the naira equivalent of $50,000 to each member of the technical team.
He also directed the allocation of a three-bedroom apartment to each of the players and members of the technical team.
