WAFCON Qualifier: Abiodun boosts Super Falcons' morale with N50m
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has given a N50m motivational boost to the Super Falcons ahead of their 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin Republic, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The team, led by coach Justine Madugu, will host Benin Republic at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta on Tuesday at 4 pm.
The gesture comes after the Super Falcons' 2-0 victory over Benin Republic in the first leg, and Abiodun expressed his admiration for the team's inspiring performances.
The players and officials visited the governor at his office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, on Monday, where he handed over the cheque.
The match is a crucial step towards qualification for the 2026 WAFCON finals in Morocco.
Abiodun's motivation is expected to further energize the team as they aim to seal their spot in the finals.
