Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen has committed his future to Italian Club, SSC Napoli despite interest from top European clubs for the former Lille man.

Osimhen has been in outstanding form this season scoring nine goals in eleven games in the league with three assists.

This feat has put him in the eyes of clubs like Manchester United, Newcastle and the likes, but the 24-year-old says he is fully committed to Napoli.

“Not even 100 per cent, 1,001. I set the standard for myself. This is the life I want to live. When things were not going so well for me, I kept on believing, kept on praying, kept on working hard, I did other jobs before coming back to my love, football.

“To get to where I am today, there were a lot of obstacles, a lot of hate, backstabbing, my success came with love, pain, tears, failures, things like that.

“Some people said ‘we give him two seasons, two clubs rejected him in Belgium, he cannot do that’ and compare me with past players. I saw those things, I’m human. Footballers are human also.

“So either I take it the way they say it or I prove them absolutely wrong. I am in one of the biggest clubs in Europe, one of the best leagues in Europe, I was nominated for youth player of the year, I won so many personal awards for myself, which felt like a huge milestone for me. I’ve got through a lot in life-threatening injuries, I came back and smashed it.

“I need to be me. I love to laugh, but I can be so serious at times. I respect everyone, I fear no-one. On the pitch it’s strictly business, on the training ground it’s strictly business, but outside of that, I just want to live life, enjoy and be happy. Life is too short.

“With the time I have now, I want to keep on laughing, making money and keep the ones that I love so close to my heart.”

The Super Eagles star's current contract in Naples runs until the summer of 2025.
