Ghanaian midfielder Uriah Asante scored one of the goals in EGS Gafsa’s 3-0 win over Gabes on Tuesday which secured safety in the Tunisian top-flight.

The former Hearts of Oak man scored the second goal three minutes to half-time after Haythem Doula had netted first on 12 minutes.

It was a man-of-the-match display from the Ghana youth international who joined the club in the second half of the season.

Nafti added the third by converting a spot-kick in the 55th minute.

Gafsa are now 12th on the league table after the penultimate round of matches and five points away from the relegation zone.
