UEFA looking to tweak the Champions League format

According to The New York Times, UEFA Competition Committee today scrapped the away goal rule from all its competitions. The move has now to be approved by UEFA Executive Committee but it's unlikely it won't be.

Next step for UEFA is moving on from the current 2-leg format for the Champions League semifinals, introducing a "Final Four" with one-and-done semifinals and the subsequent final in the same city, basically making permanent the format used last year after all European competitions were halted because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
