The narrow victory secured Galatasaray’s first three points in the group stage, injecting fresh momentum into their Champions League campaign.
Victor Osimhen’s decisive strike against Liverpool carried more than just match-winning significance. It was his 10th goal in only 18 UEFA Champions League appearances.
With that effort, the Galatasaray forward etched his name into Nigerian football history by becoming the country’s all-time top scorer in the competition. He surpassed the previous record of nine goals held by Obafemi Martins.
