In a report by English newspaper Daily Mail earlier today, Arsenal seem to be intensifying their efforts to sign Leicester's playmaker James Maddison, who has been repeatedly tied to the Gunners in the past few weeks.

According to the report, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has big market transfer plans for the London side, as he tries to bring them back to relevance and able to compete with squads such as Champions Manchester City, Manchester United and European Champions Chelsea. One of the names on top of Arteta's list seems to be Maddison, after Emi Buendia went to Aston Villa and Martin Odegaard set to stay at Real Madrid for the upcoming season.

The negotiations between Gunners and Foxes don't seem to be easy however, has Leicester reportedly rejected a 70M GBP for the player, with the player commanding a hefty 5.2M GBP salary at Leicester. Also, Maddison seems to be crucial in the team's scheme, making things more difficult.
