Recent developments from the Vicarage Road shows Watford are doing everything possible to prevent Ekong from leaving the club, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Already on the verge of losing one Nigerian (Emmanuel Dennis) to Nottingham Forest, William Troost-Ekong is reported to be on the move to Turkey after Turkish champions, Trabzonspor made a huge loan offer to be around £1.7 million with an option to buy the defender.

However, the Hornets turned down the approach claiming they aren’t getting the cash up front, whilst £1.7m is not a major fee anyway and believed that Ekong is worth more.

The chance to move to Turkey, and potentially play in the Champions League is appealing to the player, so it will be interesting to see if he pushes for this move.
