Tottenham are ready to bring in Godfred Donsah

Tottenham have reportedly opened talks with Italian side Cagliari over a deal to sign their superb midfielder Godfred Donsah ahead of Arsenal.

The 18-year-old, who has made seven first-team appearances this season, has been dubbed ‘the new Michael Essien’ because of his powerful displays.

And now reports say Spurs have moved to do business, with negotiations taking place this week over a deal.

Arsenal have been scouting the Ghanaian and were strongly linked with him, but Tottenham now look set to win the race.

Strong, commanding and powerful in the tackle, Donsah would go straight into the first-team squad.
