Al Ahly's players and supporters erupted in joyous applause, indicating that the Egyptian powerhouses had successfully executed a stunning comeback to defeat Austin Oladapo's TP Mazembe 3-0 on Friday evening and secure their spot in yet another TotalEnergies CAF Champions League final, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Few could have foreseen the drama that would unfold in the return match in Cairo under the lights after the first leg in Lubumbashi ended goalless.

The record 11-time winners were led once again by the industrious Percy Tau as they showed perseverance, hunger, and an abundance of talent to come back from the verge of defeat and represent Egyptian football in the championship game the following month.

Mazembe's brutal collapse  to Ahly who had kept the Egyptians so close over two intensely contested semi-final legs, added to their agony at not making it to the final.

But the men from Cairo continue to march on, having seized victory in a style that is characteristically dramatic, hoping to hold onto the biggest prize in African club football.
