FC Nantes winger, Moses Simon is facing a new injury worry as the upcoming season approaches, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 28 year-old had previously missed the end of last season due to an injury sustained while on international duty in March against Mali.

Despite impressing in pre-season for Nantes, scoring twice in two games, manager Antoine Kombouare has revealed that the player is now battling an ankle problem.

"I only regret that Moses Simon is struggling with his ankle," Kombouare said after Saturday's 2-1 win over Laval, in which Simon scored the winning goal.

This latest setback may impact Simon's availability for the start of the new season, casting a shadow over his promising pre-season form.
