Sacha Boey’s Bayern Munich future uncertain after Everton transfer talks

Everton held negotiations with Bayern Munich over France defender Sacha Boey almost until the close of the transfer window, according to journalists Christian Falk and Julian Agardi.

The Premier League club ultimately chose to pursue another player at the final stage of the window, ending its interest in a deal for the Bayern full-back. No transfer to Everton was completed.

Boey is understood to remain open to leaving the German club if another opportunity becomes available. The 25-year-old has not played for Bayern Munich this season, while his current contract with the club runs until 2028.

The report suggests Everton’s discussions with Bayern continued deep into the period before the transfer window closed. However, the Toffees changed direction at the last moment rather than completing an agreement for Boey.

That decision leaves the French defender’s position at Bayern unresolved. Although he remains under contract for several more years, the possibility of a departure has not been ruled out if a suitable new option emerges.

Boey’s contract situation means Bayern are not under immediate pressure to sell, with the defender tied to the club until 2028. However, his lack of appearances this season and the reported interest from Everton indicate that his future could still become a subject of further transfer speculation.

According to Transfermarkt, Boey is valued at 10m euros.
