Rivers United have been defeated by Tunisian side, Club Africain in their CAF Confederation Cup group B second leg encounter on Wednesday at Stade de Rades, Tunis, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Pride of Rivers fell 3-0 courtesy of a brace from Former Lobi and Sunshine Stars Forward, Kingsley Eduwo in the first half and Rami Bedoui in the second half.

The Nigerian team had won the first leg 1-0 a week ago and were seeking to get a significant result at the turf of the North Africans.

It was not to be as former Nigeria Premier Football League star, Eduwo opened the score for the hosts 6 minutes to the encounter.

Eduwo doubled the lead at the dead of half time to give Lefri9i a comfortable lead as they headed to the dressing room.

The second half begun and it was Rivers starting on the back foot and trying to get back into the game, but it took 17 minutes into the half to unsettle the Nigerian club side further.

Rami Bedoui increased the goal margin of the Tunisian side to 3 after he scored in the 62nd minute of the game.

At this point, it became a herculean task for the Pride of Rivers who could not over turn the score line or reduce the deficit at the end of play.
