Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide has revealed that her desire to win silverware was the driving force behind her summer transfer to AS Roma Femminile, writes Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international sealed a two-year deal with the Italian champions in July after parting ways with Spanish side UD Tenerife. She is now set to play a key role as Roma prepare for their UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying third-round clash against Sporting CP, with the first leg scheduled this week.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Babajide, who lifted the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with Nigeria, stressed that her ambitions align perfectly with Roma’s winning pedigree.

“I joined Roma because I want silverware. I’ve already tasted success, and it felt incredible, but I want even more,” she said. “Roma’s women’s team has a proud history of winning league and cup titles, and I’m determined to add to that. My focus is on trophies and, of course, on playing Champions League football.”

Babajide’s arrival adds depth and experience to Roma’s attacking options as the Giallorosse chase both domestic and European glory. With her pace, creativity, and eye for goal, the Nigerian star is expected to make an immediate impact in the Serie A Femminile and on the continental stage.
