Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers, is confident that Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho will make a significant impact at the club following his deadline-day transfer, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Iheanacho, who joined Celtic from Sevilla on a one-year deal with an option for an additional year, reunited with Rodgers, who previously managed him at Leicester City.

The former Manchester City forward played under Rogers for over two years, and the two have a good working relationship.

Rodgers praised Iheanacho's qualities, citing his talent, athleticism, and work rate. "I know Kelechi so well and what he can bring to the team," Rodgers said.

"He is such a talented player... I am sure he will love being at Celtic, and I believe our fans will enjoy watching him."

The manager believes Iheanacho, with his experience and peak form, will be a valuable addition to the team.

"He has great experience and is right in his peak years, so he can be a fantastic signing for us. I am certain he will make a big contribution."

Iheanacho, after a season to forget in Spain, will be hoping to get back his minder's touch.
