In the January transfer window, Roman Abramovich is said to be prepared to fund an 80 million euro deal for Sevilla center-back Jules Kounde.

Chelsea attempted to sign Kounde from Sevilla during the summer and was optimistic that a deal might be reached. The deal fell through because the Spanish team changed the goalposts, and it never happened.

Thomas Tuchel's side isn't in desperate need of a new centre-back, so you'd think that signing Kounde was just about getting the services of one of the best young defenders in the world.

They might do so, according to Don Balon, when the January transfer window begins in a few months.

According to the rumor, Abramovich has already put aside a large quantity of money for Chelsea to bring Kounde in during the winter.
