Philip Boampong has insisted that the entire Hearts side must accept responsibility for the club’s sorry form.

The straight-talking club defender believes that critics are too quick to pick out scapegoats when things go wrong insisting all must shoulder the blame.

The strong centre-back wants fans to realise that with a new regime and a new mentality it will take time for a new-look Hearts to gel and produce the results that are so desperately wanted.

“It’s not the fault of any particular individual. We must all accept the blame for our recent slip in form,” he said

“This is a team in progress and the road will surely be bumpy at some point. We cannot single out one person and starting blaming him or her.

“This is a collective unit and we must take responsibility for it. The road will be clear very soon. It won’t take too long for us to start getting the desired results.

“Let’s work together as a unit and keep our eyes on the bigger agenda.”

Hearts board chairman Togbe Afede XIV has come under line of fire in recent times for his poor handling of the club.

Former management member Aziz Haruna Futah is leading a movement to mobilize funds to pay off the majority shareholder.
